Renowned manhwa artist Huh Young-man has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit following a fall. Amidst his recovery, the TV Chosun program 'Sikgaek Huh Young-man's Baekban Journey,' which has traveled across the country in search of local home-style meals, has concluded its seven-year run.
The final episode of 'Sikgaek Huh Young-man's Baekban Journey,' which aired on the 21st, marked the end of Season 1 with a special broadcast. At the end of the episode, the production team displayed a message wishing for Huh's recovery, stating, "We wish for the speedy recovery of Sikgaek Huh Young-man. Thank you for being with us for so long."
Previously, a representative for Huh stated that he had recently suffered a fall and was receiving treatment in the ICU. The representative noted, "He has been hospitalized for about a month and is recovering," adding, "While his condition is not critical, we are concerned given his advanced age."
The final broadcast featured a look back at the seven-year journey of 'Baekban Journey' since its premiere in 2019. It revisited the many meals and stories documented from restaurants and alleys across the country, and featured appearances by restaurant owners who had previously appeared on the show, sharing their gratitude and support for Huh.
Meanwhile, Huh Young-man is a representative South Korean manhwa artist beloved for works such as 'Sikgaek,' 'Tazza,' and 'Gaksital.'
